| 110812 | 2003-01-03 10:23:00 | Thought my comp. was starting in safe mode following shut down probs read some posts and discovered that it wasnt safe mode just 16 colours setting. However, I now cannot get away from this setting and am frustrated anybody any ideas. Am running windows me thanks jim |

| 110813 | 2003-01-03 10:29:00 | It usually occurs when the video drivers go awol. Have you tried reloading the video drivers? They will be on the CD that came with your PC, however if the CD is a recovery disk, it may be easier to get them from the chipset maker, or motherboard maker website. | godfather (25) | ||
| 110814 | 2003-01-03 19:35:00 | What godfather is trying to say. is you need to know the name of your videocard. This can be a bit of a task. Refer to your motherboard manuals etc. another option is to download a programme like sisofts sandra which is a great we utility for testing all those things. An option is to go into device manager, Find the present videocard. I'm guessing its presently a default one so will be something like "standard vga" or the likes. Delete this and then restart the computer. Your computer will then look at your hardware then look for the best device driver and fingers crossed all will be ok. Since you have winME you also have the option of putting your computer back to a time when your videocard was in more than 16 colours. YOu won't loose any documents you have created when you restore. Although any new installs of programmes will not work |
