| 110900 | 2003-01-04 02:04:00 | Problem: have not been albe to run combat flight sim 2003, always crashes. as with age of mythology. Both games dump me back to reset of pc when they crash or lock up so have to reset to recover. this is running xp, soltek moth board, nvidia 4 - 440 agp card, 512 ram, amd 1 Gb proc. Have gone to extent of formating entire hard drive 20 Gb...and reinstalling bare bone components and os drivers for the game....but still crashes. however...quake 3 based graphic engines don't have this prob. am able to run games such as medal of honor and wolfenstein at very high graphics 1600 x 1200 ish...no crashes...runs fine. earlier microsoft games ie combat flight sim 2 runs fine also....microsoft help desk is a little perplexed also...game is so new they have little info. think something in these new games clashes with my registry files...is pretty nasty stuff. any ideas help would be appreciated regards maudib southland |

Also, is there the ability to change what Video Modes the games use? - Direct3D/Software Rendering/Hardware Rendering - if so, have you tried changing this to see if it makes a difference (even if you end up playing it in software rendering - which although it's not that good, would mean you could atleast play the games CyberChuck |
