111378 2003-01-06 03:41:00 I have a problem which I haven't struck before.
I tried to instal a programme called "Paltalk"
I downloaded it to "My Download Files" and then as usual I
went to Add/Remove and browsed to "C:\My Download Files\pal_install.exe but it comes up
"Access to the specified device, path or file is denied"
Can someone enlighten me as to what is going on please?

111379 2003-01-06 03:47:00 I don't know why you are getting that message, but I would normally go direct to the file itself and double click it. That always works unless the file is corrupt.

Cheers

I would do as suggested and find the file itself and run it!

Otherwise, Try downloading it again :-)

111381 2003-01-06 03:55:00 Do you have Adaware or other spyware detection programs running? Paltalk contains scripts to send targeted ads to your computer, increases SPAM sent to the address you subscribed with, and tracks your internet usage (www.safersite.com). honeylaser (814)

I should add to that, it probably isn't why you can't run it, but you should be aware of what you are agreeing to when you download and install such programs.

Many thanks for that link which I have read with interest. I was not aware that Paltalk would be so instrusive and have decided to give it a miss.
