111747 2003-01-07 09:58:00 I found this (www.suttons.orcon.net.nz anti-virus.html) Antivirus app last night and thought I would pass it on to members of Press F1 as it may be of some use?(1 way or another!)

Although there is a small cost involved, would be very easy to install!

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

111749 2003-01-07 20:33:00 Don't you feel tahat could be construed as being offensive to some people who use this forum?

While I do see the funny side I also feel that this type of thing doesn't belong on PressF1.

Woah, Dude, Lighten up a wee bit. I dont see how it could be offensive, cutting off most viruses at their source!
My parents have both infected the home PC about 3 times each this year, I sent the URL to them in an email, and they laughed their heads off! At the other end of the scale, I havent infected a PC with a virus in about 4 years and I dont find it offensive at all, on the conrast I feel it is quite amusing.

General Discussion

Why would they be there if they didnt expect those things to be posted about?

I think you might have just taken it in the wrong way perhaps?

Disclaimer: Chilling_Silence was in no way meaning to be offensive in writing this, please dont be :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong but IDG appear to promote this site for all age groups from kids to retired people. I'm constantly annoyed by the fact that it's not safe for my 7 year old daughter to sit on my knee while I'm collecting my email or innocently surfing the web. PressF1 is / was one of the few places where I felt safe to do that. IMHO that's be the best way for her to learn, but I can't tell what's going to turn up at the next click of the mouse button. Also, don't forget that NZ is still officially a Christian country with Christian values and to many of us such pictures are offensive.

Perhaps the 'solution' was funny, but it was an unwelcome picture in this type of forum.

No, I have been there, and am still in that position, you've gotta be careful, and have an open relationship with your parents/children. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your feeling like that :)

Being Christian myself for almost 13 odd years now, I can agree, and although God is still doing a wonderful thing in NZ/Aotearoa (Sorry bout the spelling) there is still stuff like that prevailant in this world, even in NZ :) So I totally understand where you're coming from.

Perhaps you are right! I apologise if I came off too harshly at your first reply.
Perhaps good old AVG is the best solution - For kids of All ages :)

111754 2003-01-08 01:08:00 I had a hedgehog come inside the other night when I left the front door open!
Scared the heck outa me - Walking into the kitchen to get a milo. I was babysitting at the time and the little sibblings found it and I think that by then end of the 5 minutes it had been inside before I removed it, IT was that one that would have been scared.
