111803 2003-01-07 20:57:00 Hi there,

I have got a computer with a preinstalled Windows ME, which is on a factory partician.

How do I install the new XP and keep the ME in the particiian its already on now..... Will the new OS over-write the partician thats already new, or does it set up its own new one?

111804 2003-01-07 21:43:00 If your computer does not have an extra (free) partition you will not be able to install Win XP on your computer to dual boot with Win ME without creating another partition for Win XP. To create another partition without reformatting (and losing all your data) and partitioning you will need to use a utility such as Partition Magic. tommy (2826)

If not there are freeware partitioning programs such as Ranish www.ranish.com
