111521 2003-01-06 19:39:00 Greetings

I've just upgraded from win98 to XP pro but my DVD drive isnt being detected.

I have two ROM drives - one dvd and one cdrw.

But the CDRW only shows up if I disconnect the dvd drive from the IDE cable. The CDRW is set to Slave.

My DVD drive is a Pioneer 112 ( i think)

hope someone can help

111522 2003-01-06 20:34:00 to see if that works.

also does the machine see the two cd drives? does the bios detect both drives? if yes, then its a problem with xp.

if all the aboe fails, slave your dvd drive to your hard drive(assuming u only have one hard drive)

good luck,

111523 2003-01-06 21:20:00 Yes, Check the BIOS - It should pick it up as a CD-ROM drive.

You've run Add New Hardware though? (Just have to make sure)

My DVD-ROM likes being the Master.. so its the Primary Master.. What is youre current configuration of your Drives?

Cheers
