1326945 2013-02-07 05:33:00 I am looking at upgrading my graphics card and need a suggestion.
I have a dell 0j584c motherboard ( www.findlaptopdriver.com )
and a 512MB GeForce 9600 GT (ASUStek Computer Inc).
I would preferably like to spend less then $150-$200

Any suggestions would be great.

1326946 2013-02-07 05:37:00 I spend around $1200 per card when I upgrade my graphics.
What do you think you will get for $200?

You need to double that at least.

Well as a poor student i don't have that much to spend on a graphics card,
all i need is an upgrade not a system overhaul :waughh:

1326948 2013-02-07 05:52:00 I have a graphics card worth around $280 now. Runs everything I play on highest at 1080p. You don't need to be spending $1200 on a graphics card to play games. You should be able to get a 7770 or a 560GTX for $200. Check your PSU can handle the graphics card first. If it can't and you can't afford a new PSU I would recommend a 7750 which can be had for around $150. Should run most new games on medium - high at a 720p or lower resolution. icow (15313)

To do what?
For gaming it's the most important component. Going with low end cards is pointless.
You'd be better off getting second hand - last years high end or the year befores high end.

My current card did run everything that threw at it, but not lately. Any recommendations where to buy a card in NZ - preferably that accept band deposit

1326954 2013-02-07 08:18:00 I had a look on MightyApe (due to my free shipping) and found the "Asus GT 640 2GB GDDR3 VGA Graphics Card" @$194.99 - is that an average price? mcclma (17006)
