| 1326448 | 2013-02-04 04:13:00 | I'm swapping over to Netsmart and WiMax(same price 4X speed). So I'm in the market for a wireless router, as a router newbie I'd be grateful for any recommendations, and advice. | PPp (9511) | ||
| 1326449 | 2013-02-04 04:52:00 | Chillingsilnce's blog has a whole swag of good info on routers & reliablity www.c2s.co.nz the usual reccomendation is an Asus one, although I can't remember the model, it's damn well priced and packs heaps of features as well as being compatible with custom firmware for even more goodies. I'm sure chill will nip by and put his word into play on what to go by, only thing I can say is don't get something too nice for the job. After all, you're only really after a reliable and functional router, not a mad powerhouse. The Asus one is only $90 from PB tech though. Fantastic price! |

| 1326456 | 2013-02-13 07:21:00 | Hi Chill, My TP-Link TL-WR1043ND finally turned up today and unfortunatley turned out to be a version 1.10. I note in your blog that this version resulted in some bricks. I followed some of the links mentioned, but only managed to get myself confused. I had downloaded the gargoyle_1.5.9-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-factory version but am uncertain if if this, or any version will now work. Not in familiar territory I'm afraid. |

| 1326457 | 2013-02-13 07:56:00 | Yeah apparently the newest version of Gargoyle is based off a later OpenWRT which fixes the issue. Flash that, if you get stuck then we can look into it, but you *should* be good :) | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
