1326331 2013-02-04 00:10:00 Recently upgraded to windows 8 64bit (clean install).

Ipod touch 4th gen doesn't get recnized anymore....won't even charge. The same ipod touch works well with my work computer, which has windows 7 64bit installed, but not itunes.

My old ipod shuffle 5th gen (the one with a camera) works well with the windows 8 computer, so im slightly confused....

I have tried different ipod cables, all the different usb ports on my computer, reinstall all related drivers and itune, and the trouble shooting session from the apple website... no luck...

Can anyone shine some light on this? Thanks.

1326333 2013-02-04 05:27:00 Hey thanks for the reply.

I do have itunes installed on my windows 8 computer, and it doesn't work...

It does work on my work computer which is windows 7, but doesn't have itunes installed.

I did try and uninstall itunes on my windows 8 computer, but no luck, after uninstallation and reboot it still doesn't work.. :badpc:

1326334 2013-02-04 06:17:00 It looks like Itunes can be unstable when running on Win8. Some people have managed to get it to work, by installing Itunes in compatibility mode. One site says some files are missing in Windows so Itunes doesn't work. And the same site says installing Media centre for Win8 fixes the Itunes prob.

There's still a few bugs in Windows 8

I completely agree nmercer, the new itunes are the most user friendly and intuitive software I have ever used :P.....

1326339 2013-02-04 09:07:00 Well the probs I had with Win8 when it was installed were

1. The ATI drivers for legacy ATI cards. If you installed 12.6 of the drivers, it killed the camera app (I found this out). And some sites said it also killed the video app. 13.1 of the ATI drivers are out now. But, I had reinstalled Win7, by the time this version had been released.

2. I didnt install Itunes. But, what I posted previously (from the sites I've checked) , people were having probs getting Itunes to work in Win8. Some / or most couldn't even install Itunes in Win8. If Itunes did install, you couldn't sync anything anyway.

3. I dont know why (or how). But Win8 stopped Paintshop Pro x15 from working on this. After (maybe less than a week, after I had installed it), PSP brought up a message saying something had been illegally modified. Or something. And it wouldnt run.

I had to uninstall it. No point leaving it installed, when I couldn't use it.

Since formatting and reinstalling Win7, that message hasn't appeared again

I bought my key on 28th...I think it asked if I use media center or not and I said I don't...guess that is why.... :(
