1325948 2013-02-01 00:30:00 Hi there

Has anyone had any issues with Outlook Social connector attatching private info to emails??
I had a distressed call from a customer who said when he forwarded emails Outlook Social Connector attatched info
that the recipient should never have seen :ie some contacts/other clients ???

The info from this person is unfortunately rather vague & have since removed the Social Connector (comm add-in)
I'd quite like to know what the hell is going on, as this has implications for other Outlook 2010 users .

Cheers

1325949 2013-02-01 01:30:00 Its part of Office 2010, if you dont want it, simply turn it off .

Open outlook, View - People Pane ( button) you can disable it, or remove what ever in its settings .

You'll find could be set to places like Facebook, twitter etc .

At the end of the day its people not securing their own details on various places .

Public and private information

The Outlook Social Connector only displays information from a social network for those who have made information available based on their privacy settings on a social network . If you have made any information publicly available to everyone on a social network, then that information will be shown to everyone irrespective of whether or not those users are your friends or colleagues on the social network . Read the privacy statement and use the privacy controls of the social network so that you are only sharing the information that you want . You should also consider how other relationships and connections on social sites (fan pages, networks, connections, etc…) affect what and to whom your information is shown .

Theres two Videos Here ( . office . com/b/office_casual/archive/2010/08/24/how-to-install-the-outlook-social-connector . aspx" target="_blank">blogs . office . com) While they tell you how to install it in the bottom one they also both explain its functions .

Just checked mine and the only thing theer is sharepoint, unticked, so thats an option as well, untick the boxes or turn it off .

Just a thought - Better check Office 2013 as well :)
