1325902 2013-02-01 00:43:00 yes ,happen to have another psu with same results,is there a common fault on MSI that causes this problem...board looks perfect...somtimes
one component tends to be a problem in circuits. Thanks for all advise..johnll

1325903 2013-02-01 01:46:00 Sounds like something is triggering a protection cct in the PSU, maybe a short or high load somewhere. If you have a graphics card try removing it and either using another / onboard or boot without any just to see if it tries to power up. Remove all cards and disconnect all drives from the PSU and see if that makes a difference. It sounds like a MB fault but remember other devices get power through the motherboard as well. No way to be sure without parts to swap or diagnostic tools, sounds like you've tested the PSU about as well as you can - except maybe if you can try it with a load connected as that can make a difference (car headlight bulb on the 12V rail maybe?) dugimodo (138)
1325904 2013-02-09 14:04:00 Good idea that car bulb trick,.it worked a treat on the p s u ..i was blinded by the brightness so no problem there....it lead me to the idea of
putting bulbs on the two 12v lines into the mobo (to find the short circuit without shorting the psu ? ) right away one of the heatsinks on
a mosfet 09n03la started to overheat, there are six of them in a row and with heatsinks removed three of them are black ...have been trying
to find a supplier without success..will keep you informed...johnll
