| 1325649 | 2013-01-30 08:50:00 | I'm with Xtra and have an Xtra email account that sends and receives no problem. My wife has a Clear account and can receive email ok, but... 1. Cannot send using Xtra server (presumably because she has a Clear return email) 2. Cannot send using Clear server (presumably because she's using an Xtra connection) 3. Can send using Gmail server, but only if she uses a Gmail return address (which is unsatisfactory) 4. Can send & receive using webmail, but that's just direly awful So...is there any known configuration of Outlook that will allow her to send email with a Clear return address? |

Basically the reason its not working in sending is the clear account does not exist on Xtra. WHAT email program are you using ? What has worked in the past ( sometimes) in the outgoing server details you don't normally put in a username and password as the incoming one for xtra ( example) is the same as the outgoing, BUT some email programs do allow it (outlook for example) if you enter in the Xtra Account details this sometimes sends OK. 4718 |

You can then send from anywhere, but incoming messages will say something like Joe Bloggs [joe.bloggs@gmail.com] on behalf of Joe Bloggs [joe.bloggs@clear.net.nz] in the sender line, but Replying will at least use the Clear email address. | MushHead (10626) | ||
