| 1300904 | 2012-09-14 08:46:00 | The kindle 4 wi-fi (basic, I guess) is on sale on amazon for US$89 (NZ$104-ish) and free shipping ... mmmm ... sounds good. I have one small problem with it though, can't download books from the local library due to the proprietary mumble-jumble installed in it. Any views on the Nook and/or Kobo? | Sanco (683) | ||

| 1300908 | 2012-09-14 21:15:00 | After using my kindle for 6 months, I won't bother with a tablet for reading. Anywhere I can see it, I can read it. Full sunlight affects it just like a book, - the stronger the sun, the warmer it gets but reading is unaffected. Battery life beats the tripe out of the energiser bunny, the dictionary at a touch makes me wonder why I persisted without it, and the price of e-books is astonishingly low. Complete works of Tolstoy for less than a bus fare to and from the nearest bookshop. Magazines (delivered) for 10% of the newsstand price, and no bookmarks to fall out. Great gadgets. | R2x1 (4628) | ||
