1300892 2012-09-14 02:53:00 A mate of mine had a Kindle - for about a week. The he sat on it and smashed it (it's only plastic). Wouldn't have happened with a tablet...

or a book.... ;)

1300893 2012-09-14 02:58:00 Had a Kobo Vox. Being LCD and backlit it had dreadful battery life. Sure it was colour, but only until you started reading. It had an accident so I replaced it with a Kindle Touch, and a cover with built in light. Absolutely marvellous, and battery seems to last for ever. Bought it direct from Amazon. I looked at the Kindle Fire, but it has the same problems as the Kobo Vox. As suggested already, the Kindle Paperwhite could be worth a look. Richard (739)

1300898 2012-09-14 04:59:00 I've read more books then I can remember on my tablet and my phone, I find both extremely comfortable to read.

now that tablets are so cheap and have so many uses I wouldn't even consider a kindle. After all, The kindle app runs oh so sweet on a tablet, and the shop is in full colour....
