Liking the 4 inch screen, the 4.8 inch on the S3 is great. Not too sure about the some of the colour choices on the ipod nano (a bit "bright") but in some ways I do like the look of the new nano. New ipod touch looks nice too. Looks like it's time for me to pickup a 2nd hand iPhone 4 off TM once the prices come down and/or a 4inch android phone. | icow (15313) | ||

The problem is the specs are not that impressive which isn't a big deal but a little sad, they will be selling largely off brand name this time round. Camera? We'll have to see how that goes, the addition of a proper lens is promising but until it's actually tested in a real life environment we won't know. Reality is it's a cell phone camera. Wanna take pics? Get a DSLR. It will probably do as well as most Point n shoots to some degree but hey it's a phone. Screen, don't like at all. Tall and thin with a bad aspect ratio. As Chill said this will cause some bad fragmentation with apps only supporting >4S or 5< hardware Thinner? Only because it's a 4S spread out over a larger area Overall I think the iPhone 5 is just another iPhone, not much to add to the pile really. It could be the start of a dip in apple's market hold but it won't kill them by any means. Millions will buy it either because its new or because they want one because it's an iPhone. There will also be millions who buy it because it actually fits what they want from it. One of the big issue with iPhone for NZ most of the digital content features that it is marketed for are not available in NZ yet and are unlikely for the future. The last thing I'd like to say is those new Nano and iTouch models look very lumia :p no lawsuits I expect but still a shame to see the colourful Lumia being passed on. |

| 1300740 | 2012-09-13 07:20:00 | Spent 3 hours with the 7 earlier in the week. It is nice, not the screen size or me though. I lo find it funny that fandroids like big screens in their phones but small screens in their tablets. Yeah that's an interesting observation. I've got the One X and a Nexus 7. I'd take both over my old Nexus One size and Transformer / Prime size. I guess its interesting Apple users like such a stark contrast, especially considering Jobs claimed anything smaller than 10" better come with a file for you to file your fingers down to a usable size ;-) |

As far as digital content, NZ only misses out on tv shows. Totally agree with the camera, want to take pictures use a real one. |

| 1300743 | 2012-09-13 07:46:00 | I thought Nokia Lumia phones supported NFC also?Oh, their do. So let me correct my statement. The lack of NFC on the new iPhone, will only affect android and lumia users. | plod (107) | ||

| 1300745 | 2012-09-13 08:05:00 | Lumia's are good phones, I don't see any reason for all the hate anything on windows mobile gets around here, it's not that bad. Sure Android and IOS are better (imo) but it doesn't mean its so terribly bad you should never use one. Screen, don't like at all. Tall and thin with a bad aspect ratio. As Chill said this will cause some bad fragmentation with apps only supporting >4S or 5< hardware Kind of like the ipad 3 with its screen. Not much use until movies and apps come native in that resolution. High resolution photos must look bloody good on it though. I don't out right see it as a bad idea though, kinda like the lack of flash player support on IOS. You'd hope they integrate some tool into xcode (apple dev software) that helps app devs scale the app based on the device, I understand that this obviously won't work too well with things like 3d games. The last thing I'd like to say is those new Nano and iTouch models look very lumia no lawsuits I expect but still a shame to see the colourful Lumia being passed on. The blue looked very Nokia-like. The coloured border as well... |
