1325780 2013-01-31 00:26:00 I brought a Razer DeathStalker Ultimate keyboard but I was disappointed with it so sent it back for a refund.

Now I am considering its replacement and have started to look at the mechanicals (again).

Has anyone used one before, the keys look very high and I am wondering how they work with typing and such.

This one is top of my list right now.

1325781 2013-01-31 02:12:00 A mechanical keyboard, other than features/quality/design is often tefined by it's switches (just like a good TV is often defined by the display panel used, rather than the name on the bezel)

I'm by no means an expert on these things but from what I hear Cherry make the *best* switches, this one uses Cherry reds. There are, like WD HDD's, a whole bunch of colour coded types of Cherry switches. Each colour refers to a different type (eg, quite, clicky etc etc, goggle Cherry switch colour meanings if you're interested)

So, I see a $200 average feature gaming keyboard from a relatively reputable company with some decent switches in it, not quite my style though. Otherwise I'd personally have no worries about purchasing that if I had the $ :D . These things tend to be personal preference though, what didn't you like about the Razer?

1325782 2013-01-31 02:15:00 The laptop style keys sucked when trying to type with it and the software that comes with it is rubbish. DeSade (984)
1325783 2013-01-31 02:36:00 you will find them so much faster and nicer to type with once you get used to them but for a nice mechanical (clunky) keyboard i use a G105 logitech keyboard. Slankydudl (16687)
1325784 2013-01-31 02:41:00 Fair enough, some keyboards I have used are utter tripe.

Slightly off topic, I accidentally uninstalled the wrong copy of BF3 so now I have to download all 19gb again :( grr

Isn't the G105 a normal keyboard? non-mechanical?

@OP: Coolermaster quickfire (pro or rapid) keyboards are nice.

1325787 2013-01-31 04:40:00 G710 is the only mechanical logitech makes.

I have decided to get one of these

Using Cherry MX-Brown switches.
