112258 2003-01-09 03:39:00 The settings depend on how you connect.
How are you connecting? Internal Modem or Ethernet Router?

The settings for the internal modems should be on Xtra help page

112260 2003-01-10 02:48:00 What type of modem are your using ie Dlink Plexuscom 0800367321 (2958)
112261 2003-01-10 04:39:00 Your settings will depend on what the modem is.
Does it connect via USB?
Does it connect via the Network port?
Make and model of the modem is?

112262 2003-01-11 02:02:00 this is getting very complicated--does anybody know of a site I can go to to see what the Registry settings are,and how to change those settings for maximum efficiency.I have a Laptop with Windows 98SE & IE6.I am using an external USB Dynalink ALE070 modem using xtra jetstart.cheers rdee (1809)
112263 2003-01-11 02:52:00 Almost any default settings seem to work on Jetstart, as its not the full ADSL speed.
You can play with MTU settings but my experience is that it works as is at that speed, and tweaking cannot make it run faster.

If any downloads run around 16 KB/s give or take a bit depending on the compression on the download, then thats all you will ever get, unless you log onto the JetStart Games site, by reconfiguring the modem (not sure you can with the USB one, check Telecom site for instructions).
If on the Games site, you do not have normal internet and email access, only the games site itself, at full speed.

The speed of JetStart is limited by Telecom to 128 Kilobits per second, which is about 16 KiloBytes per second (8 bits to a Byte)
