112487 2003-01-09 19:37:00 I run the dragon naturally speaking software on my PC a Celeron 500 with 128 mb of RAM.It seems to work quite well but goes slow sometimes I wonder if extra RAM would assist the software.I think the key to having this software work well is to have a good mic.and practice letting it get used to the users voice,I would be interested in any comments from users of this software. Thanks kings (2729)
112488 2003-01-09 19:53:00 I think that some extra RAM would assit with speed issues.
With the extra RAM, it could load the entire program into memory, rather than having to switch back and forth between the Swap File (See FAQ).
I do believe your processor speed would suffice, as I have seen the software used fine on less, but with more RAM.
The extra RAM would, IMHO, assist with the speed issues, and at the moment, its so cheap and dead easy to buy and install some more.

and have a look for a local vendor that will have some cheap SDRAM!

112489 2003-01-09 19:57:00 Although you don't mention your OS I would hazard a guess that it's Win98 or ME. Another 128mb of RAM would make a big difference and it's worth getting while it's still cheap. crozier (2004)
