112430 2003-01-09 09:22:00 Ummmmm it's all good. You can show off your hardware, see whats happening inside the case.

not that good if you're a messy person though and it's far better do DIY.

112431 2003-01-09 18:09:00 Hey

I do see that the images look a bit empty - the cases only have their HDD bays and fans. No motherboards, or HDD's though, etc.
PCWorld has an article on how to make your own one in their October 2002 magazine under the "Hot Modding" section

Hey E.ric, it wasn't very long ago that my ambition was to have a new PC like one of those. I thought it would be soooo cool to have a window and a pretty light to gaze upon all those interesting bits inside my wonderful machine. A few of the regulars here will remember my enthusiasm. :D

What happened? Well, I have always put quality before aesthetics and after spending quite a bit of dosh on a good, although very plain :-( case I didn't have the heart to rip into the side of it with a jigsaw or dremmel and ruin it. Sadly my dream of having a pretty computer went out of the window pretty smartly after that, if you'll excuse the pun.

Next time.... next time, maybe.... :p

You could always just take the case off your computer?? not only can you look at all the moving parts (which I know - it is fun getting dizzy while you watch the fan go round and round and round and round and round and round....) but you can even touch the parts too!

If you get good enough sharpen your pencil on the spinning fan that goes round and round and round and round and round and round....

That should've been
If you get good enough, then you can sharpen your pencil on the spinning fan that goes round and round and round and round and round and round . . . .

You could even get a little chisel and make your own proggy's on your HDD while your at it :p

I could but there's one thing stopping me: dust . I had the side off yesterday and already there is a bit of dust in there after only two months . :-( Imagine how much there would be without the case sides on .

Also can't trust visitors not to poke fingers in there when I'm not looking . . . . :O

You aren't trying to get me to rip those adoption papers up are you? :p

112438 2003-01-09 20:57:00 Well I'd shove a pencil in to sharpen it.. but that's it :D
