When I wake up in the morning and press the "Wake" button all i see is a bright strip of line in the middle of my moniter. Win98se, 3D Prophet 4000xt kyro 32meg, CTX Colour Moniter; Model 1451ELR - 14" i think. Tell me if this is correct and i will get a new moniter; I am currently using my grandads MGA moniter from his old 386 i think :| |

| 112516 | 2003-01-09 22:22:00 | If the bright strip is across the middle, from left to right then your monitor has lost its vertical deflection. This is not nice, and refrain from leaving it on as the entire energy for illuminating the screen is now concentrated in the one thin strip, which can damage the CRT by burning the phospor coating and/or the shadow mask. If its not too old its worth having it looked at, likely the deflection transistors have given up. |
