| 112822 | 2003-01-11 03:38:00 | I'm running windows 98SE which came installed with Trend Pcillin. Not sure what I did (if anything) but a few days ago at start up I started getting the BSOD. Tracked it down to Pcillin. Removed it from the startup programme via msconfig and computer starts and closes with no problems. However if I go to Programmes - Pcillin - Real Time monitor and click on it the Screen goes blue - has a message - then there is something about "initialise - time out" If I do it again the lightning bolt icon comes on and away everything goes again. Any suggestions on how to fix this bar uninstalling the Pcillin and re-installing it. Thanks Iris |

I was so busy trying to explain the problem clearly that I forgot all about those messages. Back to the beginning: When I have Pcillin ticked on msconfig - startup I get message no. 1(Blue Screen) 0028:C1667C8A and a quick flash of "initialisation error - timed out" programs continue to load then there is a 2nd message (Blue Screen) 0028:C16893AA The lightning bolt icon doesn't appear on bar so I go to Program - Pcillin and click on Real Time Monitor, and it appears. I do find that I have trouble shutting down then but when I untick Pcillin in msconfig - startup the computer starts up ok and closes ok. Hope I have added enough detail |

| 112825 | 2003-01-11 07:30:00 | So the "blue screen" is not a Blue Screen Of Death" (BSOD) obviously . When "0028:C1667C8A" comes up, thats it? the whole message, just a memory location? Not "Error XX at 0028:C1667C8A" . . etc? Normally errors at least tell what caused them, so this one is a bit difficult I have no idea what the "lightning bolt" icon is, assume thats part of PCcillan? I have never used (and have never encountered) PCcillan . I wonder if a recent update to PCcillan has caused it to dislike your system? |
