113328 2003-01-13 03:29:00 I need a tool to slow down my CPU. I've got an athlon 1800+ and trying to run Moto Racer GP is insane. Anyone know of a good (safe) one? tango (2697)
113329 2003-01-13 03:30:00 I love that game :)

You can always try slowing it down in the BIOS?

113330 2003-01-13 03:44:00 I'll have a look...

while we're on the topic, do you know where I can get the 2 extra tracks they released for the game? They were called Funfair and the other one you raced on a beach. The official site is no longer up.

113331 2003-01-13 05:39:00 here we go:
if you PC runs under 800mhz get this program - Mo'slo @ www.hpaa.com/moslo/

or CPUKiller @ www.cpukiller.com/products/cpukiller/index.html

both these programs temporaily slow down the CPU, which i think you're after.

113332 2003-01-13 06:11:00 >>> I've got an athlon 1800+

Why anybody would want to slow down their system is beyond me ?:| - Swap it with me - my system is slower than yours, so if we do a trade you won't need to go searching for a slow down tool :D

113333 2003-01-13 06:59:00 Those programs are designed so you can play older (DOS etc) games( that were designed to run on PC's running at tens or hundreds of Mhz, not Ghz,) on todays PC.
In Tango's case - i think this is his situation - trying to play an older game on todays PC.

But yeah, if you are looking to permantely slow down your PC, i'll happily trade my 900mhz duron ;) :p

113334 2003-01-14 09:07:00 Oh, this is too easy. There are a few programs that will do this. You could use Fuzzy Logic, but this slows your Front Side Bus as well(FSB).
There is a program called Turbo(but actually slos down, not up), you just set percentage of original speed, an prepare for slowness.
There is another program called Moslo. It is similar to Turbo. I have both of these. If you would like me to mail you these very simple programs, drop me a line at keza85@free.net.nz

113335 2003-01-14 19:30:00 Sounds like you want a slow Tango :D

Moslo is what you need: www.hpaa.com I've used it for old DOS games in the past and found it's best to write a batch file which runns moslo first then the game.
