113941 2003-01-15 01:55:00 Hi, im thinking about starting a LAN network between two computers. What hardware will i need to accomplish this?
Can you network win 95 to win 98?
Do i need any software?
Any help and advice would be appreciated
Thanx.

113942 2003-01-15 02:05:00 You'll need 2 Network Cards and a Crossover cable.

If you plan on expanding, then perhaps a Switch or Hub and a few patch cables (Non-Crossover)

You can network 98 and 95 fine.
I would setup 98 as the "gateway" or "main" PC, because if it is 98SE then you can share the internet connection across the whole network :-)

Not software needed apart from the Operating System.

Check in the FAQ for information on how to get it going!

Cheers
