113772 2003-01-14 20:13:00 I have a file which ends in .psp. At first I assumed that it was a Paint Shop Pro file so I downloaded it. However Paint Shop Pro won't open it.

Any ideas what other program(s) use the .psp suffix?

113773 2003-01-14 20:16:00 Im pretty sure itd be Paint Shop Pro...
Google says there's also:
Personal Security Program
and other wierd stuff, but mainly a lot of reference to Paint Shop Pro :)

Could the file be corrupt?

113776 2003-01-14 20:30:00 Thanks for the quick replies guys. But it doesn't seem to be any of those. It appears to be a booklet, which is another reason why I thought it was Paintshop Pro. But Paintshop Pro says it's not a valid Paintshop Pro file. crozier (2004)

I'm starting to wonder that too :(

The author of the file is away until the end of the month so we can't ask her what it was created on or for another copy of the file.

113778 2003-01-14 20:36:00 Are you sure it doesn't have a hidden extension? i.e. filename.psp.exe

It could also be a MS Pushpin File.

Something also to think about, all the different PaintShop versions use the same file extension, so it it possible it is, say, a version 3.0 file, and you are running a newer version?

113779 2003-01-14 20:42:00 Thats a good point.. And if you received it via email or something - you scanned it for viruses didnt you?! Chilling_Silence (9)
113780 2003-01-14 20:44:00 Sure it's not .pps?

I wasn't aware of that.... I'll scan through my old Mag CDs and see if I can find some older versions. Thanks.

There doesn't appear to be a hidden extension.
