I wonder what would happen if you went to windowsupdate with the .NET Server - whether it would say that you don't have a MS Windows Product, and here's how you buy them, or if MS would say "Sorry - we do not offer support for our Beta Testing Products" - that's something to think about!

113866 2003-01-20 07:35:00 I've had a quick play with the .NET Server beta (4 or so) and it is very nice but a PIII and at LEAST 256MB RAM would be best. kiwistag (2875)
113867 2003-01-20 07:40:00 Sorry.. Only RC2 is out... And yes, I love it, SOO FAST!

Im currently running it on a 300Mhz P2 with 256MB RAM and it runs like a dream!

I've also run it on a P233Mhz with 128MB RAM and it still manbages to cope with a ton of browser windows, WinAmp 2.81, Outlook Express and a few Explorer windows!!

Cant wait for the Desktop-End OS!

113868 2003-01-20 08:18:00 Tried out for the beta but like anything from MS I was ignored. Wanted to beta Office 11 as well but nothing Big John (551)
113869 2003-01-20 08:34:00 I had a friend who just got authorized to do beta for .NET - having signed up about 5-6 weeks ago, he just got permissions!

.NET Is worth it.. Provided you dont mind the large download times ;-)

113872 2003-01-20 18:39:00 I'd reccomend using Windows .NET Server due to the fact that Microsoft's next OS will most likely require it's Pallidium chip - there's something to think about :D cyberchuck (173)
