2003-01-15 23:49:00 | I just purchased UT2003, and when I ran it for the first time it told me that I had to upgrade my graphics drivers for best performance - as they were too old. This is about the third game that I have had this message with, and each time I upgrade the drivers (to the latest from nvidia) when I try to play the game again, it seems very nice and smooth, until all of a sudden my PC will reset, and when windows loads again it tells me it has recovered from a critical error. So I try the game again, and again it crashes... ad infinitum..... Usually what I do now is roll back to the previous driver - but now I can't play my games. Both UT2003 and Battlefield 1942 had this same issue. I seem to be unable to use the latest drivers on my machine. I have tried to get drivers from my cards manufacturer, but they just point to nvidias site themselves anyway. Is there anything else I can try to get this card to work? Cheers, Craig.

2003-01-16 00:09:00 | Yup! They're right - You'll need to goto nVidia.com and download the latest Detonator Drivers.... Click on Drivers up the top and 2K/XP Drivers... Select that you have a GF card and hit download... It's about 19 megs so it may take a wee while. You then need to remove your older drivers, and THEN install the new ones, as it warns you otherwise that there can be conflicts caused :) Cheers Chilling_Silence

2003-01-16 00:13:00 | Thanks Chilling... but i just did that last nite - and the new driver is what caused the restarts! Perhaps I need something of a middle ground - the old driver I have sort of works, but the game locks up periodically (like MEAN lag) but the new driver plays nicely till a critical error occurs... What can I do? Cheers, Craig.

2003-01-16 00:25:00 | Goto: nVidia.com Lookup the Old Driver Downloads section and I tink its 30.81 that everybody seems to be the happiest with... Give that one a shot!

2003-01-16 03:08:00 | Or it could just be the OS... Windows XP and gaming don't really mix too well... You applied SP1 yet? Lo.

2003-01-16 03:19:00 | I thought that only XP included Driver Roll-back though? ME might, but none of the others do AFAIK! .NET Server can! *Glad that beta testing can have its advantages*
