| 114364 | 2003-01-18 16:12:00 | jbl monitor mounted speakers. sounds like a compaq presario to me.I have a 900 duron but thank god mine has an AGP slot.it has been reliabe and handled everything i have thrown at it. My 1st PC ahh. But dont expect to get GTA3 running too hot, or NFSHP2 for that matter, by using a PCI graphics card. 33mhz wouldnt get the graphics details there fast enough, giving very poor frame rates(slow down) my compaq 900duron weith a gf2mx400 runs NFSHP2 only just. and if you reverse to hard out or it gets too busy on screen it can slow down to about 5 or 10 FPS. Those 2 games you mention really need a GF3 at least to be playable and on a machine about 1000mhz.Then they start looking sweet. | valiantnz (1709) | ||

But put a small hard drive in it and any OS up and running,connecting to the net for the buyer to see running, and who knows ya might get $600-$650. It depends how tidy it is. Unless you really need half a grand, i'd be tempted to hang on to it. You know how reliable it is. The buyer doesn't, but will give you token $$ to take it of your hands! .Clueless |

| 114367 | 2003-01-21 04:30:00 | Well I have linux 7.2 on 2 CDs... but not too sure i want it at the moment, maybe if i get an older machine. Im also unsure about program compatability with linux. I like windows anyway. And yes my machine is very tidy; still white like new, it hasnt gone that beige colour that some white appliences go after a while. I could even install HEEEEPS of programs that i have downloaded (and registered if i needed to) over the years. I could get MP 9, Quicktime pro, zone-alarm firewall, norton 2003 pro, norton 2000 utilities, even Incredimail Premium, Word 2000, Money 2000, Encarta 2000, Ulead Photo express 3.0, powerquest partition magic 7, Ad-aware, Office 2000 or office XP pro, and heaps more. |

Oh and I'm a good 2 days away from havign Sim City 4. Yes, Jared has a crappy compaq precsario and the monitor looks like mickey mouse with its dorky side speakers. I've used his computer. Bah. Seriously Jared buy a second hand 10 gig hardrive for like 50 bucks then the computer will be set. Also load the PC with Winzip and Winamp and some other FREE stuff so that you can list it in your add. I would probably myself buy ur computer for 400 bucks but im not in NZ so oh well. Its alrite, really, your computer. I hate your case and monitor. |

The 'side speakers' are VSS which are exellent for watching movies or listening to mp3s. Already has WinZip 8.1 Full... does anyone even like winamp? i hate it but will install when i sell it. I can always change the case... |
