114390 2003-01-16 11:14:00 A person had a problem with a bad install / uninstall of MS Money on XP.
I must say I wasn't very impressed. Reinstalled the software and tried several times with Add/Remove to uninstall it but finally got it uninstalled properly when I ran the install program from the CD and chose remove. It bugs me when MS can't get things right with their own programs.

You can't really blame Microsoft though, as how can they make uninstallers for their programs when it wasn't properly installed in the first place? - as good as they are, they can't run through every scenario and make recovery methods for every situation. Like Murphy's law says:
If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop

Also, you should be greatful that Microsoft actually does include uninstallers with their software - as some programs don't even come with uninstallers - although those programs usually don't write to the registry so you can just delete the folder.

They aren't the only ones. I'm having problems getting Ghost 2003 to run on my Win98 box. Tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it but it still won't play. Gave Regcleaner a run and was amazed at how much Symantec had left in the registry.

With all that now removed I'll have another go but I'm not holding my breath at it working.
