114394 2003-01-16 01:29:00 Hey...
I've dug myself into a problem...
I had a internet bill (i get charged 2 months in advance) and i usually pay $6 a week (automatic payment) and it was perfectly alright as in agreement with the ISP (Quik Internet)...but i stopped it over the christmas/new year break as, it would confuse me...payments go out b4 the usual day or after.....but it resumed this week, and since i stopped it, i put in a lump sum of $45.00...
BUT.,.they havent picked it up....and even weirdly...they picked up a autoamtic payment on the day i paid $45...but it was picked up as $6.00 and all my bank transcations say i never paid $6....but this morning..a transcation of $6 went out wednesday (yesterday) so according to my details/recipts that means i paid $51.00 this week....out of the $60 owing (all to be paid by 10th feb..rest will come out of $6 weekly from yesterday onwards)..
So I emailed the Local Franchise ppl about it...and they told me to fax the recipt of the $45.00 up to the accounts manager..which i did immediately...and...i emaield them asking to confirm if they received it alright...and today is now 2:30pm thursday....its been over 3 and a half days since i hear from them?....i emailed them yesterday asking whats going on...havent heard back yet.,...
What should i do?....I would ring them..but I'm Deaf and yeah..it just really annoys me taht ppl can get really slack in these areas..especially when bills/finances and "due dates" are involved...
I just worry about it because...$45.00...i dont want to find that my payment of that has "vanished" into thin air...

Please can i have some Advice or ideas of what i could do :-D
many thanks

114395 2003-01-16 02:01:00 Order out everything, get all your documents together so you can prove that $45 went out (if you can't, you might have some trouble), and go and see whoever these people are in person.

I've found that email is usually ignored, phone calls sometimes don't work, and so seeing people in person gives it makes it more important.

You might even like to say you're not going to give up until you find out what happened to that $45.

114396 2003-01-16 02:06:00 I would write them a letter and post it via snail mail to wherever there head office may be, and include a copy of that receipt with the mail - don't forget your bank account details and username for their service - you could even include your return address on the back to make sure that it does get sent, and not returned to sender (which will be unlikely)

Although it may take some time to reply, atleast you know that someone will end up reading it, and therefore will make results. The only problem is that some companies who receive correspondence via snail mail seem to reply via snail mail...

114397 2003-01-16 02:06:00 Because your bank statement will show that $45 came out of your bank and into theirs, your gonna be fine. Yes its a matter of kicking them and getting them to sort it out, but in the end that money shall be either returned or credited to your account. roofus (483)

Because, as a company, it would be safest to do so.

If you email them, they're likely to email back.
Phone them, they're likely to phone back.
And write to them, they'll be likely to write back.

The reason it's safe is because they can make an assumption that they will be able to communicate back to you via the same means you contacted them.

Of course, if you you wrote in your letter "I don't have an address, so please email any further contact to user@domain.co.nz", they would reply by email.

Yet you also say:
> I've found that email is usually ignored phone calls
> sometimes don't work, and so seeing people in person
> gives it makes it more important.

Contradictory ?:|

Also, I just wanna change a few things:
If you email them, they may email back
Phone them and they'll talk to you there and then (that's the whole purpose of the telephone - instant communication)
etc...

114400 2003-01-16 02:39:00 Note I said "likely", not "will".

And in the instances that people haven't emailed me back (and you to), it's because they don't take the email seriously, and don't have enough time for it, or were not interested.

And in referring to "they're likely to phone back", I was meaning if you left a message - an email is leaving a digital message, and writing is in no way instant, neither is an automatic messaging phone system.

Another way they might phone you back is if the matter could not be resolved by phone - which is very likely when you are involving a bank statement and trying to argue about who owes who money.

114403 2003-01-16 03:15:00 I agree that F2F is your best bet.

March in there (Politely) and ask to see the accounts manager..
Hand over all your documents and show them your money went out of your account and into theirs!

Ask for a credit or a refund.

If you go in there, confident in yourself, and let them know you'll settle for nothing less than that, but still do it in a polite/confident manner, I think you'll get results... Good ones :)

But make sure you're not obnoxious (spelling) or rude about it. Be confident but calm :)

Cheers
