114715 2003-01-17 10:18:00 Hi

Have just installed mailwasher on Mum's computer (W95) but when I launch Mailwasher I get:

Error starting program
The MAILWASHER.EXE file is linked to missing export WININET.DLL:InternetGetConnectedState.

Any help on where to from here?

TIA

114716 2003-01-17 10:31:00 What version of Internet Explorer? I think you will find the problem may go away if IE is version 5 or greater.

If thats not the case, then the WININET.DLL is probably too old or incompatable, there are plenty of places to download from, try Google

Your Windows 95 system lacks the required Internet {options}. You need to upgrade Internet Explorer to 5.5 SP2. You may get away with a slightly earlier version, but 5.5/Sp2 will do the trick.

114718 2003-01-17 10:54:00 Thanks Guys - That will be the problem. I hadn't bothered organising a newish IE coz I had loaded Phoenix as the main browser!

Mum only has a 33.6Kbps modem and I don't fancy downloading IE5.5SP2 using it. Does anyone know somewhere in Chch that I could get a copy on CDRom?

Thanks

114719 2003-01-17 11:06:00 Shroeder, Got an older copy of a NZ PCWorld cover CD? Or borrow one from someone in CHCH... get someone to download from Internet via their ADSL link...

Babe :-)
