| 114514 | 2003-01-16 23:43:00 | Hello, I'm using a WindowsXp OS and have a problem with my CD-Rom drive. Every time I insert a CD into the CD-Rom the LED light comes on but the CD doesn't play. I tried going to 'My Computer' and opening the CD from there but I get an error message saying - 'Please insert a disc'. I checked the status of the CD-drive but it said that the device was working properly. I also tried formatting my computer and reinstalling windows but the Cd-Rom still didn't work. My Cd-Rom was working properly until a few days ago. Is there a way I can fix my Cd-drive? |

The most likely cause is that the laser as failed, Its not worth repairing as it would cost more than getting a new one. Sounds like your gonna have to withdraw $50 out of your bank and go down to your computer dealer. |
