You can use the internal XP firewall as pointed out in Godfathers' reply or download a free one (Zonealarm) from ZoneAlarm (www.zonelabs.com) off their Downloads page. Or if you get NZ PCWorld they often have it on their cover CDs'.

Cheers, Babe.

114664 2003-01-17 22:36:00 Your anti-virus probably already scans them first but it is a good practice to save your downloaded OE attachments to somewhere on your hard drive and scan them with your anti-virus before opening them. Never open attachments without doing this first no matter where they have come from. Susan B (19)
114665 2003-01-17 23:37:00 I'd go as far as saying never open any unexpected attachment..
Remember that AV programs only get updated after a virus has done the rounds a bit and been identified, dissected, and then added to the list of nastys your AV program will bawk at.
To my knowledge no-one who has ever written a virus, has ever been kind enough to send a copy to the AV people before releasing their creation to the world.
