114544 2003-01-18 02:28:00 You sure have a lot of trouble with your computer :P

Firstly, is your (or whoevers...) DVD-disc not copied in any mean (?:l:o)? Have you tried checking the Bios and making sure its ok..... Does the DVD-Rom actually work? Is it faulty?

Check and see,

114547 2003-01-20 01:49:00 You might have to take it back to the computer shop, if you have done all the things suggested and its still not working.

Have many times have you played the disc or other discs in the DVD?

Is the disc you are trying to play, but won't work, the same zone as the others?

Is your DVDs zone locked (it will do it after 4 plays)

Yeah, i remeber when i first got my dvd, the guy said after i play about 5 dvds i have to reinstall my power dvd for it to work again or something.

i remember when i was at the shop, he played 1 dvd to test the player. so thats 1 dvd i ever played with my dvd. theres this other dvd my uncle gave to use to watch, so thats dvd #2. and now theres this dvd i cant play (meet the parents)?

how do i unlock dvd zone? it didnt work when i reinstalled power dvd. and remember when i push play, it says cand load dll pwrdvdx.dll

114550 2003-01-20 05:35:00 OK Tim, I will try and explain it to you as best as I can .

A DVD disk from the USA might be ZoneA and a DVD from Japan might be ZoneC .

If the guy in the shop tested your DVD, that was one play, if you have put that DVD in the player and pushed play and if you did that say 3 times (even if you didn't watch the disc all the way through) than its been played 4 times and more than likely probably locked .

If you can still play the original disk OK, but not the one you have borrowed, I would start by checking what Zone it is encoded in .

I don't know if you can actually unlock the player . I think you have to continue to stick with the same zone disks that its locked on

114553 2003-01-21 20:39:00 Tim,

I typed pwrdvdx . dll into Google, and got the following message:

2 . When I try to play a movie I get this error message "Unable to load kernel pwrdvdx . dll"

You need to uninstall and reinstall Cyberlink PowerDVD . If you installed any other software or for some reason your system locked up, this can cause the problem . Make sure you meet the minimum system requirements for both DVD Drive and PowerDVD . Make sure that you disable any Anti-Virus software and close any applications running in the background .
