114534 2003-01-17 01:36:00 so i did the diagnostic and it says this

"Your motherboard is not using a Intel 82371xB series of chipset. We strongly recommend you to install the IDE or bus master driver that comes with your motherboard and enable the DMA mode for accessing your DVD-ROM. Not enabling DMA mode or using an improper IDE driver might either degrade the performance of PowerDVD or even prevent PowerDVD from properly executing. For more information about the IDE driver, please visit the web site of your motherboard vendor."

how do I enable the DMA mode?
when I put in the dvd and press play this message comes up saying "Unable to load Kernel pwrdvdx.dll !" and I checked if i accidently deleted the file but i still have the pwrdvdx.dll file.

and im not rich, the dvd is slow and this is the 2nd dvd i ever watched with my dvd and the dvd disk isnt mine :*)

114535 2003-01-17 01:39:00 If you have winxp im unsure, as its normally on by default.

in Win9x goto device manager, then find your Dvd drive. Double click on it and go into the properties there you will see you can enable DMA. it will give you a warning, but don't worry about that.
Then reset your computer and your away

114540 2003-01-17 05:42:00 Is it only certain disks it does this on, or just the disk you borrowed. It might not have anything to do with it, but is the disk you borrowed from the correct zone? If you have already locked in one particular zone, and the disk is from a different zone, then it probably won't work. Baldy (26)

??? are you saying my cousin locked it the dvd with his dvd player so i cant watch it with mine?

what do you guys think is the problem, the dvd or the software or the disk?

114542 2003-01-18 01:17:00 You could try re-installing the software.
My Asus DVD-ROM won't play DVDs correctly with DMA mode enabled, so I have set mine to PIO mode instead.

However, yours may function better with DMA mode enabled.
Setting DMA mode in WinME should be the same as Win9x but I'm not sure because I've never used WinME before.
