| 115145 | 2003-01-19 05:03:00 | Ive got Lycoris Desktop/LX build .61 and it seems to be going awefully slow! Ive done a format and re-install a few weeks ago and the only thing ive changed would be the smb.conf file and installed WineX! All the konqueror windows take forever to load, whether its NTFS, FAT32 or Ext3 File System! Any ideas why? Its an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ with 512 MB RAM and the HDD is nowehere near full! GF4MX 440, just in case :-) Cheers Chilling_Silence |

Look for a heavy user of CPU in top (ignoring top itself --- it's often the hog when you are running it ;-)). Look at the /var/log/ files for the people who are using you as a proxy server to send millions of spams. |

If its not working tonight, then Im gonna format my Lycoris Desktop/LX partitions and install RedHat 8, as Im gonna try out WineX and it doesnt seem to be too happy under Lycoris... And I already have the extra nvidia drivers for RedHat 8! Will let you know how I get on! Cheers Chilling_Silence |
