115138 2003-01-19 04:14:00 When playing DVDs in PowerDVD XP v4, the DVD keeps going out of sync. I have to stop the DVD and play it again for it to get back in sync but then it will just go out of sync again. I have tried a number of different DVDs and they all do the same thing. How do I fix this?
I recently got the virus that prevents any .exe files working when u select them and got a fix for this but I have a feeling that it is still in my system as this DVD problem has only started since I got that virus. Also when scrolling down on webpages the computer makes a ringing noise, not very loud but u can hear it. Can anyone help me with my problem please??? Thank you in advance :-)

115139 2003-01-19 04:28:00 If you've got an anti-virus program, do a full system scan to see if there are still viruses on your computer. If that returns a fail, the virus might've played around with some of your programs, so try uninstalling PowerDVD, rebooting, and reinstalling it, then see if it still goes out of sync. If that fails, you could try playing the DVD in Windows Media Player (if you've got Windows XP), or run a program (if you have Windows ME) which is called "dvdplay.exe" in the C:\WINDOWS folder, which will only work if you have a hardware of software decoder installed in your computer, so you'll need PowerDVD to play DVDs if you don't have a hardware decoder. agent (30)
