| 114860 | 2003-01-18 06:32:00 | Hi, when trying to activate my "INTEL USB" web cam in the latest msn messenger I cant seem to get anything but a blank/black screen.Reinstalled messenger thinking something was missing from the app, still no joy.It works perfecty in yahoo messenger,so does that mean a firewall isnt the problem. But for conferencing msn seems to be better( he says bravely ducking a hail of anti msn bullets ).I use xp home edition so every thing is recent and I keep up to date with the mega critical updates we get.Any help much appreciated for this earth shattering problem. IF AT FIRST YOU DONT SUCCEED THEN SKY DIVING IS NOT FOR YOU. |

With other people, i try ringing their IP number and a message comes up saying "the person did not accept your call". The other person is not getting any messages asking if they want to use netmeeting with me - even though their Netmeeting IS open, and their IP address IS correct. With MSN Messenger, the other person accepts my invitation to "start using camera" and then for a few seconds it works, and then the screen goes blank, and in the MSN chat window, it says the other person is having network problems and please try later. Does anyone know wat's happening? As I said above, i only have this problem with certian people...not everyone... |

For instance, In paltalk, private messenging wont work, with a firewall enabled, but the chat rooms work fine. try disabling firewall, when using web cam. cheers, Bob |
