115430 2003-01-20 08:36:00 Tried to open a file attachment sent by e-mail but got the message " this is too large for notepad do you want to use wordpad?" Clicked on yes but then got told it couldn't find wordpad. Where do I find it and how do I instal it?? Peter M (852)
115431 2003-01-20 08:42:00 Its a Windows Component.

If you're in Win9x - then open up Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs.

Select the Windows Components tab.

Find it under the accessories sub-menu and put a tick next to it, You'll need your install CD!

Its like a slightly more advanced Notepad, with RTF capabilities!

Cheers

115432 2003-01-20 11:40:00 Peter,

Have a look at [url=http://liquidninja.com/metapad/]MetaPad[/ url]

In particular, the bit about replacing Notepad with MetaPad.

It's free, and I wouldn't be without it, even though I own MSWord97 and MSWord2000

I also have installed EditPad, NoteTab and Programmers' File editor.

I use each on occasion, but MetaPad is my workhorse.

I just said I used a lot of Text Editors, but I didn't say that I used them well :p
