116044 2003-01-22 21:38:00 hey guyz

recently my 60 GIG Seagate Barracuta has been acting up on me!

when im using my PC it will just freeze, the HDD LED will go crazy, the HDD loads so fast the LED just stays on instead of flashing, it renders everything usless so i have to restart, im not sure if its a virus i did a scan but nothing found, i am using Trend Micro PC-Cillin 2002, BUT...
its saying in the virus logs that there is a virus called J_NOCLOSE.E in the content.IE5 folder in temporary internet folders, but that folder doesnt exist!!

i have had this PC for nearly a year, i gave done several Defrags and scans but still no sucess!!

any help would be extremely appreciated!

Thanks James Lamb

116045 2003-01-22 21:55:00 While it could be a virus, you've said the only virus found was in the Content.IE5 folder. This was probably deleted, and by the sound of the virus name, it appears to be a script or something that simply doesn't let you close something, most likely the browser window.

You've also said you've done numerous defrags and scans (I assume that is Scandisk?), besides the virus scans. This probably leaves the option of formatting looking very nice, but I'm not sure if it would be appropriate before you had a little more of an idea about what's causing your troubles.

116046 2003-01-22 22:23:00 Information about Noclose trojan Here ( vil.nai.com) although as agent has indicated it will not be the cause of your problems.
Ad-Aware should remove it.

Have you got Hidden Files hidden?
(Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View)

If so, the folder may be there but hidden.

Enable "Show all files" and recheck for it.
