115926 2003-01-22 04:02:00 I am unable to use my Canon 670U scanner because it comes up with message 'Unable to connect to TWAIN driver.'

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both the driver and the accompanying software and I still get that message. I have also made sure that the cable is securely connected. The computer knows the scanner is there but it doesn't want to work!

I run Windows 2000 on a 1.6 gHz

115927 2003-01-22 07:58:00 Is the scanner/driver/software compatibile with W2k?

115928 2003-01-22 08:18:00 It WAS working until I tried to install a network port. I have since physically removed that and uninstalled it - but I'm still having various problems, one of which is with the TWAIN driver.

115929 2003-01-22 08:24:00 have you uninstalled the network port's drivers? Is the card the scanner was plugged in to inserted properly (it may have been bumped when you were playing with the NIC)?

115930 2003-01-23 02:44:00 I see it's a USB scanner. I hear that there are tricks to this (in other words, with the interface standard at 2.0, they still haven't got it right :D).

Try reinstalling the software with the scanner [b[not[/b] plugged in. Then plug it in. (Or before doing that, try: power down, unplug the scanner, then power up. That nmight be enough to get it all "synchronised").

115932 2003-01-23 09:58:00 I occasionally have the same prob with a Mustek scanner.

My fix:
- Unplug the scanner from the USB port
- Remove the scanner from Device Manager.
- Plug the scanner back in to the USB port.
