Looks like i have to enable hide cdr in the clonecd icon as at the moment I only have a cd writer and no ROM (damn cables weren't long enough to reach both) So yea i will get that going as that suppresse the ATIP or something like that, and see how that goes. Won't be able to do that till tonight though as I'm presently at work. Will let you know with the outcome, as i'm sure you'll be interested if I get a result with securom for future reference. thanks |

I used to just pick any writer, but then with my first serious machine, I had to go for a writer which would do absolutely anything I asked for (short of DVD stuff) ... Anyway, going on that CloneCD and checking how many sheeps a writer was given was the basis of choosing the writer for me... Best of luck tonight! Lo. |

| 115846 | 2003-01-22 07:36:00 | Sup Losh. Mission completed. Got home tonight and burnt a test of diablo 2 to a cd-rw. activated the "hide media" option in cloneCD (disabling ATIP) and it ran fine. I had downloaded the many profiles for CloneCD but the diablo copies worked fine just using the "game cd" profile. My purchase of the Samsung drive wasn't actually based on the two sheeps at the cloneCD site. Infact I didn't even know that protected CD's existed until i got a coaster while trying to do AOE2. The two sheeps were just a bonus really. So yea securom can be defeated by using the game cd profile and if your writer supports multi depth recording in the P & Q sub-channels |
