1328096 2013-02-14 08:50:00 Can someone tell me which Antec model has taken over from the NeoPower 550? Driftwood (5551)
1328097 2013-02-14 23:56:00 OK I'll rephrase the question.
I am building another gaming system for flight sim.
Current system has a Antec Neopower 550 which has been more than adequate.
New system will be almost identical so are looking for a similar PSU, as the Antec Neopower is no longer available.
Currently looking at Antec, Coolermaster & Corsair 500W - 600W.
As there are quite a few to choose from, any advice would be appreciated.

1328098 2013-02-15 02:10:00 Corsair or Antec.
As there are quite a few, I'm not trawling through them for you, but you can select the models that appeal to you off their website and then check some reviews of them.

These guys do some thorough reviews:

1328099 2013-02-15 03:23:00 Save yourself some time researching all this & just buy a Corsair.

Yep there are other PSU's just as good, but is it worth all the time & effort researching reviews, finding local suppliers blah etc

1328100 2013-02-15 04:19:00 Corsairs are not really that good - I think it all depends on your luck.

My first Corsair 650TX failed just after one year and my second Corsair 750TX failed after 2 years.

It's all luck. Just avoid those real cheap ones.

Yes.
At least these guys anyway, most interesting what they find sometimes. They do component level tests, not just a looks good, good brand, should be fine type review.

1328103 2013-02-16 05:05:00 Opinions on comparison between Corsair GS-600W & Silverstone Strider ST60F-ES 600W
From the reviews i've read there's not much between them.
Except the Silverstone is modular.
Anyone had experience with either of them.

1328104 2013-02-16 08:50:00 I had the old GS-600, it was great till it died. Got replaced by the new GS-600, I hate it. Whoever decided that making a fan power off when using less than said amount of power is just asking for trouble. I'm looking for a reason to replace it. icow (15313)
