2012-09-18 22:59:00 | It is indeed. Nice to see 120gb+ in a reasonable price range. 60gb doesn't cut it for me when games like bf3 are 20+ gb. | icow (15313) | |
2012-09-18 23:39:00 | yeah, looks like I'll 'have' to get one for myself, too - I'll need a 120GB unit. Intel vs OCZ, or others, which one you guys recommend? Also, notice that there's quite a big gap in prices for Intel's 3 yrs warranty and 5 yrs warranty. How reliable are they (compare to ordinary HDD)?

2012-09-18 23:59:00 | OCZ's vertex 4 is apparently pretty insane, hence why I nabbed one myself. Only 64gig, since I've just got the OS on it, but damn it makes a difference. Have a look at some benchmarks. As for reliability, the general consensus is they're more reliable than mechanical drives, and have a longer life expectancy than your average computer anyway.

2012-09-19 01:43:00 | Anyone got news as to when Toshiba's new 3.5" SATA HDD line of rebranded Hitachi drives from Western Digital will enter the market? I talk of course, of the "new" DT01ACA Series (storage.toshiba.com)

Haha yes. 60gb is too small for me too but 120gb and a 1tb for everthing else is magic, and if room does get tight just install the progs on d drive. A 256 would be sweet EDIT: i have heard some bad reviews of the sandforce chip reliability...can any one else confirm?? unfortunately i already brought mine but so far so good  |

2012-09-20 02:22:00 | Does win have to be reconfigured for SSD's . ie some way of putting all the temp/caching files etc onto the HD , not the SSD. To keep the writes down top a minimum. Or does it no longer matter with new SSD's ??
