1301643 2012-09-17 21:00:00 That is very interesting, I got the feeling that we are getting ripped off. I must remember to use my old XP machine to shop online in future.

1301647 2012-09-17 22:39:00 I can see a good reason for having a dual boot on my laptop. When shopping on line I can use Linux. I can imagine them thinking oh that poor man he can only afford a laptop with Linux on it, we had better give him our goods for a cheap price.

Reminds me how recently a friend bought a cheap push mower for $15 from 'The Garage' which is a second hand shop at the entrance to the Invercargill tip. We needed to find out how much it would cost to get the mower serviced. I went into one of the businesses that service these mowers, I was smartly dressed and wearing a tie. I was told it would cost about $80. As I walked out I could hear a conservation where someone asked why did you not quote a lower price. The answer was that I looked as though I could afford it. Lesson here - when inquiring about the cost the cost of repairs make sure that you wear shabby clothes. :D

1301648 2012-09-18 00:00:00 In late June this year, travel website Orbitz disclosed to the Wall Street Journal that it utilises price customisation software, stating that it believes Mac users will pay US$30 to $40 more per night for a hotel than those using PCs. On average this was found to be an 11 per cent increase, with some customers on Macs spending up to 30 per cent more than their PC-using counterparts.
