The same figures could quite easily be interpreted as "something that used to cost $920m/year will now cost $520m/year, resulting in a $400m/year saving". Lot of people I know work seasonal or part-time because there are not enough full time work opportunities around. There was a time not so long ago infact that living and yes working those types of jobs and hours was liveable. Its pretty hard to be on a low income when the income is only better off than the benefit by $60 per week. Its worse when you have hypocrits telling you you must find full time work when it does not exist!!!! Harder still when your a employer whose overheads end up costing jobs to stay in business and that spills down. I wonder how much it cost for WINZ to claim back that 1 cent on the news tonight? |
