1302312 2012-09-20 08:04:00 Letterboxes have to be certain distance from the kerb as well apparently. I had to move ours before we left Nelson. In England there are thousands of places with the letterbox in the bottom of the front door gary67 (56)

1302314 2012-09-20 09:04:00 About twenty years ago I had my letter box wrecked by a drunk. I placed the letter box on the ground as a temporary measure (it was much lower than the one shown in the photo) for about a week. I received a letter from NZ Post which indicated that the Delivery Officer was unhappy about the way my letter box was positioned. I took the hint and got a welder around to fix the letter box which made the Delivery Officer very happy. Bobh (5192)
1302315 2012-09-20 09:37:00 Well, I can say this from experience (paper boy, start at 6:30am no less ;))

To me, height of a letterbox really doesn't matter that much, it doesn't slow you down and/or is dangerous. On the other hand, people who think they can let their plants almost cover their letterboxes - they need a letter to say cut the plant down.
