| 1328082 | 2013-02-14 06:42:00 | Looking at getting a brand new Samsung laptop which comes standard with Windows 8. It's not touch screen and I'm not really at all interested in Win8 from the general consensus, Win7 seems to be better at this stage. Anyway, I don't own any Win7 software (current laptop came with it factory) so how does one go about downgrading without paying anything? Does MS/Samsung offer anything like that or what is the best/cheapest/free way to (legitimately) put Win7 on a Win8 laptop? |

Other wise ask the shop to supply a windows 7 version of the laptop- but this may be beyond some of their ability :) They'll more than likely say it only comes with Windows 8. This may sound harsh but I'm not really at all interested in Win8 from the general consensus So you let others who often dont like something because its to difficult for them to grasp something new make up your mind on if you actually like something or Not AND you have never tried it yourself ? :groan: Read the following post completely pressf1.pcworld.co.nz and you'll see several replies actually contradict your comments. To quote myself from an earlier post: I've delivered a couple on New W8's to people this week, once I taught them a few basics they loved it. Actually had one call me back today and thanked me, they were used to using their other W7 PC, but the new W8 they found it much easier once they had been taught correctly and got used to it. Windows 8 is faster has quite a few more features than 7 and once you get out of the follow the sheep mentality you may like it. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa |

The manufactures can still offer W7 Laptops / PC's till October 2014 - BUT it upto them to do so, and the shops to get them. |
