| 1302365 | 2012-09-20 06:37:00 | Take care. Subscribed (medium & high) a couple of days ago for this app to tell my phone about emergencies. Today at midday as I boarded a ferry 19 emergency messages arrived on my phone! Alarm - maybe one of them is warning of tsunami coming, should I leap off the ferry? Panic - maybe that extinct volcano out there is going to blow? (At least the "mad cow outbreak" did mention 'test') No, they appeared to be all about valid events: that happened sometime in the past month or so. So they were apparently "testing"?!! That's $3.80 the 19 tests phone spam stole from my Prepay account, more than I normally use in 6 months! I can't afford to pay for old, stale emergency warnings so I opted out. Maybe somebody will tell me when the system goes live. |
