1301684 2012-09-17 23:32:00 Yes, Apple hating Goodiesguy has just bought a second hand Ipod Touch off trademe. Second or third Generation 8GB and its 3 years old and in good condition.

I normally don't like Apple products but the Ipod touch could do all the things I need it to such as play lossless audio files, playback video, browse the internet from my connection.

I had enough of my little Countdown supermarket S&V mp4 player, as the bass responce is not great, the sound quality is not too great either, and it will only do lossy mp3's.

Meh. I can deal with it. And they'll be some open source type thing I can probably find. It doesn't mean I have to play my music in iTunes, just to do stuff to the ipod.

I dumped all my music from itunes and use spotify premium instead to populate my phone. Set a playlist to offline use, in the phone/ipod and it automatically syncs.

For videos I just use Plex when at home, and Goodplayer for local playback - no itunes needed.

Highyly doubt it cause it's a 2nd Gen iPod which firmware caps at 4.2.1 because of hardware capabilities.
