| 116202 | 2003-01-23 22:32:00 | Gmt GMT . exe (Gator) Background program which is part of the Gator GAIN software (Gator Advertising and Information Network) . Gator GAIN is what we call adware (advertising spyware) . Gator GAIN is used by software manufacturers to enable them to offer you the FREE use of their software instead, they receive advertising revenue through the advertisements displayed by the Gator GAIN add-on whenever you are using their software . Recommendation : We are against all adware . Download SpyBot Search & Destroy from our Downloads area and use it to remove Gator and any other adware or spyware . Note, however, that in some cases removing adware will totally disable the application which installed it, and this maybe an application which is important to you, so you may want to initially only disable this with Startup Manager while you ascertain how Gator Gain got into your PC . --------------------------- The above was copy and pasted in full for your information . You could try Adaware, cannot think of the url off hand but a search for Adaware will give you the link . Most likely this will appear in the msconfig system . I am not familair with win2000 but if you can try Start > Run > type in msconfig and press Enter > click the Startup Tab and remove the tick for GMT > Apply/Ok > Reboot . While you are in there you might as well disable other unwanted items . To see what they do follow either of the two links below . . answersthatwork . com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist_g . htm" target="_blank">www . answersthatwork . com . pacs-portal . co . uk/startup_pages/startup_full . htm" target="_blank">www . pacs-portal . co . uk That first link, just change the _g to what ever letter you want to seach under . |

| 116204 | 2003-01-23 22:44:00 | GMT I don't think is connected to either AVG or Outpost, I have seen this one before but cannot recall the program(s) that it runs though according to the blurb that I posted before it is Gator related. | Gordon. (2217) | ||
